Meet Debbie Aziz, Practice Manager
Debbie joined Advanced Vascular as Practice Manager in 2010. Before that, she worked as an occupational therapist, and patient care has been at the centre of her work the whole way through.
From Occupational Therapy to Practice Management
Debbie studied at Oxford Brookes University in the UK, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy. Her career started in the UK and later took her to New Zealand.
Then came Australia, and the move into practice management. The role was different, but the focus didn’t change.
Getting to Know Every Patient
No two patients have the same needs or circumstances, and Debbie makes a point of getting to know each person as an individual. She’s married to Dr Maged Aziz, the practice’s founder, and together they’ve raised three children. Having balanced family life with her own career, she understands how much families have on their plates.
The team also aims to make communication easy for patients, including outside normal working hours where possible. Personal rapport and understanding are what Debbie sees as the practice’s real strengths.
The most rewarding part of her job? Staying in touch with patients from their first contact through to the end of their care. She likes being someone they can talk to directly when they have a concern.
Outside the Practice
When she’s not at work, Debbie enjoys reading, taking trips to the Australian outback, and going to music concerts.
