Radiofrequency/LASER Treatment in Brisbane
Endovenous treatment (EVT) is also known as EVT with Radiofrequency Ablation or LASER. Quite simply, it is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins and quickly becoming the gold standard in this category of vascular care.
During EVT, a thin fiber is inserted into the damaged vein through a very small entry point in the skin following an ultrasound scan. A laser light is emitted through the fiber, causing the targeted vein to close and seal shut. The blood is automatically routed to other, healthy veins.
Benefits of EVT
Advanced Vascular provides safe and comfortable treatment at their advanced vascular care centre. Here are some of the advantages to our targeted care:
- The procedure is painless. General anaesthesia or a local analgesia will be used, with preparation of the leg using appropriate antiseptics.
- Lasers have proven their safety and effectiveness through years of use in all types of medical procedures, including eye surgery and dermatology.
- You will be able to walk following the procedure. We encourage our patients to get back to normal activities within five days, although swimming, heavy exercise and contact sports should be avoided for two weeks.
Covered by Medicare
EVT has been approved by Medicare and recently allocated a Medicare item number. It is also covered by private health insurance. We encourage you to contact our office today if you are suffering from a varicose vein issue.
